With the NBA season finally back, the Lakers have grabbed the spotlight again with their trade for the All-Star point guard Chris Paul. They did give up some big names to get him and one wonders if the Lakers have set it up for Dwight Howard to come and play with Kobe in Hollywood. That would be a really awesome team then but right now I feel the Lakers lack top big men having traded away NBA champions Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom.

The Lakers have definitely taken a very big gamble and from my point of view if they can’t get Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic they have been very reckless. In any case, the Lakers couldn’t give even give the Los Angeles Angels their moment after they pulled of a spectacular baseball move by signing superstars Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson.

Dwight Howard is hands down the best center in the league today. Los Angeles has a good chance to get Howard if they send Andrew Bynum to the Magic and include the two trade exceptions they received from the Chris Paul trade. Although, I am a big Kobe fan and feel like the Lakers would have been great this season as they were before the Paul trade, my head thinks that they really need a “Big Three” of their own to compete with the one down in Miami and some of the other teams that have been put together as of late.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see Kobe, Metta World Peace a.k.a Ron Artest and the Lakers in a familiar Christmas Day special, but this time it is also the NBA season opener against the Chicago Bulls! What a Christmas treat!
