The Lakers edged out the Celtics 88-87 yesterday and have moved up in the Western Conference standings. As I write this article, they are down to the New York Knicks 49-41 in a much hyped away game in Madison Square Garden.

Knicks guard Jeremy Lin has made headlines as an undrafted player who came out of the Ivy league playing at Harvard and then after a stint in the NBA’s D-league and his hometown Golden State Warriors finds himself in New York who claimed him off waivers. The remarkable thing is that in a recent game against the Utah Jazz he put up 28 points and 8 assists after really being a bench player during his tenure with the Knicks. He also 18 points at the Garden in today's game against the Lakers.
As much as Lin’s game is having basketball experts and fans raving, it hasn’t seemed to have caught the attention of one Kobe Bryant or so we are led to believe. But I am sure Bryant and Derek Fisher are out to get at Lin as we all know they have the championships.
It is definitely an interesting clash that I am enjoying watching on ESPNs NBA Friday. Lin seems to like the limelight and it was against John Wall in the Vegas Summer League in 2010 that he made a name for himself. He has had great games against the not so great Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz and the New Jersey Nets and must be looking forward to prove himself against a great franchise like the Lakers.
Laker great Magic Johnson seems to like what he has seen of Jeremy Lin comparing him to Steve Nash and John Stockton during the Toyota halftime show.
